The Financial Times (FT) ran an article earlier this week, saying that, with a glut of 1 million homes, Spanish new house prices might still have to fall, and that price adjustments could take another “two or three years to play out.”, however the article also reports that “Second-hand homes in sought-after cities around the country", such as Antequera, have also resisted sharp price corrections, according to Spanish property agents". (see more below left)

Notes on the site owners;
After many happy years on the coast, we got fed up of the 'mad' development and moved inland to the city of Antequera, this is pronounced anti-care-rah. (see more here)

Though there has been an abundance of development in and around the town, it is nothing compared to some of the towns and cities along the Spanish Costas.

Also, much of the re-development being done in the central areas is sympathetically in tune with the original architecture. The new town hall or Ayuntemiento for example, which very tastefully achieves the blend of old and modern.

Additionally, the city is very go-ahead and as well as getting the high speed AVE train service, which offers MADRID in less than 3 hours, it is also planning to open a new airport in 2010.

Ryanair and Easyjet are already in the bidding to offer budget flights from many UK airports.

It has one of the best hospitals in Spain. The advent of good transport links via road, rail and air have also attracted many large corporate organisations to the town, along with lots of extra jobs.

Since our kids decided that the USA offered more prospects to them than the UK, Spain or Europe generally, we find we are spending more and more winters in California, rather than Spain.
